How to Design for Sagittarius

Updated: Jun 13, 2022

It’s Sagittarius season! Sagittarians love adventure and new sights. Since this year has been a little sad for the adventure seeking, travel-loving Sags, a newly decorated home will fill this zodiac sign’s soul.

Want to learn how to decorate for this zodiac sign? Here are some design tips to help create the perfect space.

Well-Traveled Furniture

Sagittarians have the reputation of being lovers of exploration and adventure, traveling to far off places. As such, their décor should showcase that sense of wanderlust. Fill the home with an eclectic display of furniture and décor from around the world. Moroccan rugs, hand-carved chests, and wall hanging art, or anything else that has a story of your travels is a great way to connect to that Sagittarius energy.

Warm Colors

Ruled by the element of Fire, Sagittarians are warm-hearted and fun loving. Their spaces should feel the same. Colorful and brightly colored décor in bold colors such as a cheerful yellow or poppy red connect to the joyful and light energy of this sign. If you’re not a fan of the bright and bold color scheme, a more muted palette of mustard yellows, burgundies, and burnt sienna related to the mutable placement of this sign, being at the end of fall. Add these colors to art, rugs, pillows, and even furniture pieces.

Decorate the Den

While the Sag’s symbol is that of the hunter/archer, this sign is also known as the seeker. Philosophers at heart, Sagittarians are hunters of knowledge and truth. As such, a den is a great place for this energy to flourish. Whether it be reading books or debating with friends, a living room, den, or small gathering area is a key room for this sign.

Global Patterns

To add to this zodiac sign’s travel spirit, finding textiles with global patterns such as ikat or shibori. These can be used in pillow cases, table cloths, throws, or even wall art. Since a lot of mixed pattern can be overstimulating, use a consistent base color when pairing these different patterns together.
